Laerdal, Norway - Oyraplassen 9

This small, simple hotel is a well-located and practical choice. It is well-managed by the owners of the Lindstroem hotel nearby. The rooms are small and simply but comfortably furnished. They might not be particularly stylish, but they are in good condition. The bathrooms' condition varies somewhat, some are almost brand new whilst others appear rather dated. All are clean and serviceable however. The restaurant is on the ground floor. It is modern and surprisingly large for the size of the hotel. This is a modern, purpose-built hotel with a grey concrete facade. The lobby is very small, but groups checking in can wait in the spacious adjoining lobby area which has plentiful seating.

Laerdal, Norway - Habnevegen 5

This hotel is very well located, and though not exciting to look at, offers guests a comfortable, no-nonsense place to stay and an excellent base to explore the breathtaking surroundings. The rooms are all medium sized and in fair condition. They are simply furnished and decorated but whilst not being visually very arresting they are clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are also in fair condition. The restaurant is located on the ground floor and is a functional modern room. It is a modern purpose built property but looks a bit dated from the outside. The lobby is large but its dark colour scheme and dated decor lend it a rather gloomy atmosphere.

Laerdal, Norway - Laerdal

The Lindstrom is a family run hotel where service levels are always maintained to a high standard. Facilities are simple yet comfortable. The rooms in the main building are medium in size and in good condition as are the bathrooms. They are Scandinavian in style, simple and comfortable. The rooms in the other two historic buildings are quite different and steeped with historical charm. Technically they are probably in less good condition than the rooms in the main building, but their historic feel should more than compensate for any minor shortcomings. The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the main building. It is simple and clean. The hotel consists of 3 buildings, the main building houses the reception, restaurant and about 70% of the rooms. There are 2 other more traditional buildings located across the street which are absolute jewels of rustic yet ornate country hotel architecture from the 18th century. The lobby is large and simple in decor with adequate seating and has a very popular gift shop.
